Como novedad de este año, la tercera edición de la copa contará con tres pruebas nacionales que se celebrarán entre enero y marzo en las estaciones de Baqueira Beret, Formigal y Sierra Nevada.
La Fundación Jesús Serra, del Grupo Catalana Occidente, y el Centro de Deportes de Invierno Adaptados (CDIA) han presentado el nuevo circuito de la Copa Fundación Jesús Serra – Copa de España inclusiva de esquí alpino, que este año celebra su tercera edición en tres estaciones de esquí españolas. La competición dará su pistoletazo de salida en Baqueira Beret los próximos 29 y 30 de enero y luego se celebrará en Sierra Nevada el 26 y 27 de marzo y Formigal el 2 y 3 de abril.
El formato del torneo permite que en la misma competición y trazado participen deportistas con y sin discapacidad, alcanzando una inclusión real en los deportes de invierno. Las tres Copas de España se disputarán en las categorías U10, U12 y Master en deportistas sin discapacidad y en las modalidades de pie y silla en deportistas con discapacidad.
En las tres estaciones de esquí, se disputarán las mismas especialidades: Slalom Gigante y Slalom, y se adaptará el recorrido y la normativa según cada categoría. Las pruebas son puntuables para los circuitos de Copa de España de Esquí adaptado, Copa de España inclusiva FEDDF-FEDPC-RFEDI, Copa de España de Masters RFEDI.
El director general de la Fundación Jesús Serra, Ignacio Gallardo-Bravo, apuntó que «para la entidad esta competición representa un firme paso adelante en la consecución de los objetivos de inclusión social que promovemos, en este caso mediante el deporte. Uno de los ejes vertebradores de nuestra actuación es preservar el principio de igualdad de oportunidades y este circuito es el fiel reflejo de ello».
Por su parte, el director del Centro de Deportes de Invierno Adaptados (CDIA), Andrés Gómez, destacó «la labor que realizamos junto a la fundación de Grupo Catalana Occidente para impulsar los deportes de invierno entre todas las personas con y sin discapacidad, en una competición que contribuye a su normalización, ya sea física, intelectual o sensorial».
El campeonato esta coorganizado por de la Real Federación Española de Deportes de Invierno (RFEDI), la Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Discapacidad Física (FEDDF) y la Federación Española de Personas con Parálisis Cerebral y Daño Cerebral Adquirido (FEDPC).
