El Mundial de snowboard paralímpico que se iba a disputar en La Molina este mes de enero se pospone a marzo debido a la poca nieve que ha caído en la estación gerundense y que imposibilita la competición, según informó este jueves la Federación Internacional de Esquí (FIS).
Con este aplazamiento, el Mundial de snowboard paralímpico previsto del 19 al 29 de enero se disputará del 9 al 18 de marzo en las mismas instalaciones de La Molina.
La competición, que cuenta con diversas disciplinas como snowboard cross y banked eslalon, se disputará en el área del Torrent Negre, en las pistas de Els Plans y Solei.
La deportista guipuzcoana Irati Idiakez, doble subcampeona del mundo de snowboard el pasado año en Lillehammer (Noruega), tiene la plaza asegurada para este Mundial, en el que podrían competir también otros dos españoles, Emilio Redondo, perteneciente a la Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Discapacidad Física (FEDDF), y Raquel Martínez, de Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Parálisis Cerebral y Daño Cerebral Adquirido (FEDPC).
