May Peus España fue reelegido presidente de la Real Federación Española de Deportes de Invierno para el ciclo 2022-2026. Es la tercera vez que renueva su cargo tras ganar por primera vez el 20 de septiembre de 2014 y ser reelegido en segundo mandato el 30 de junio de 2018.
El resultado final de la votación ha sido de 26 votos a favor del candidato aranés por 14 de Oscar Cruz Dalmau.
La Asamblea General que votó la presidencia estuvo formada por 41 miembros. Depositaron su voto en la urna 13 presidentes de federaciones autonómicas, 14 clubes, 7 deportistas, 4 técnicos y 2 representantes de jueces y delegados técnicos.
Entre los asambleístas hubo miembros del alto nivel deportivo como el campeón del mundo Lucas Eguibar, el fondista Jaume Pueyo, los mushers Ismael Mediavilla y Víctor Carrasco además de los esquiadores Quim Salarich y Albert Ortega Fornesa.
Tras la elección del presidente, la Asamblea procedió a la elección de la Comisión delegada formada por representantes de presidentes de FFAA, clubes, deportistas, entrenadores y delegados técnicos y jueces.
Perfil de May Peus España
Es aranés nacido en Baqueira Beret y licenciado en administración de Empresas, Marketing y RRPP con posgrado en Contabilidad y Marketing por la Universidad de Barcelona. Ha sido miembro del Comité Ejecutivo del Comité Olímpico Español (COE) y es vicepresidente de la Asociación del Deporte Español (ADESP) y del Comité Ejecutivo de la Organisation Pais Alpin (OPA). También ha sido miembro de la Comisión técnica de los JJOO Pirineos 2030, del Grupo Recreational and Tourism WG FIS y de la Presidential Conference IBU.
En 2015 ingresó en la Real Orden del Mérito Deportivo tras recibir la medalla de bronce en reconocimiento al impulso de los deportes de invierno. Conoce bien los deportes de invierno ya que formó parte como esquiador de los equipos RFEDI, es técnico deportivo superior en esquí alpino, ejerció de entrenador y director de club y fue seleccionador de Infantiles RFEDI.
Nuevo Plan Estratégico 2022-2030
Durante la campaña May Peus España y su equipo han presentado un detallado Plan Estratégico 2022-2030 que define cinco pilares estratégicos. Este plan es la continuación del aplicado entre 2016 y 2022 que ha tenido un alto nivel de cumplimento del 80% de las acciones previstas que se han plasmado en unos resultados deportivos globales históricos.
Según el nuevo plan, se debe ahondar en la excelencia deportiva no solo de los atletas de la federación sino también de los eventos tanto destinados al alto nivel como a la base. En este sentido algunos de los objetivos fijados son conseguir aumentar a 3 los top 3 por edición en Copas del Mundo e incrementar federados en un 40% y los deportistas en los equipos RFEDI hasta el 30% más.
Otro de los pìlares es la Formación y la Cadena de Valor de los deportes de invierno que se debe trabajar fortaleciendo los planes de desarrollo que ya están en marcha para la detección y apoyo al talento, promover las nuevas titulaciones federativas, por ejemplo en biatlón y mushing, y los centros de tecnificación para las que hay ya previstas las becas Iberdrola y Academia.
Los pilares de Ecosistema de la Nieve y de Modelo Económico están íntimamente relacionados. En el ecosistema debe extenderse la actual posición de Spainsnow en todos los sectores de la nieve y atraer a deportistas recreativos a ese ecosistema federativo mediante propuestas de valor añadido. En cuanto al Modelo Económico se prevé aumentar el presupuesto mediante los recursos propios en un 50%.
Y no menos importante, el pilar de la Inclusividad, Sostenibilidad y Solidaridad en el que la igualdad de género es pieza fundamental empezando por incrementar el número de mujeres en equipos nacionales. Por otra parte, alcanzar la neutralidad climática ya promovida por la FIS y la inclusión del deporte adaptado siguiendo las directrices de la FIS, las federaciones nacionales y el Comité Paralímpico Internacional.
