El III Congreso RFEDI-SPAINSNOW volvió a constituirse como un foro donde los distintos representantes de las Federaciones Autonómicas, clubes y diversos profesionales del mundo de los deportes de invierno debatieron con los diferentes Comités de la Real Federación Española de Deportes de Invierno.
Uno de los puntos a tratar durante las tres jornadas del congreso fue el de los deportes de invierno inclusivos. Andrés Gómez Sirat, coordinador nacional de Deportes de Invierno de la Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Discapacidad Física (FEDDF) y la Federación Española de Deportes de Personas con Parálisis Cerebral y Daño Cerebral Adquirido (FEDPC), hizo balance de lo que fue la temporada 2020/2021, que estuvo marcada por la pandemia de la COVID-19.
Durante su exposición, Gómez Sirat habló del convenio entre las distintas federaciones (FEDDF-FEDC-FEDPC) con la Real Federación Española de Deportes de Invierno y sobre los objetivos que se marcan en cuanto a preparación de deportistas, organización de competiciones, formación, equipación, imagen, comunicación, apoyo de patrocinadores e intento por derribar barreras arquitectónicas.
Para la próxima temporada, el objetivo de las federaciones es consolidar las tres sedes de la Copa de España inclusiva con Sierra Nevada, Aramón y Baqueira-Beret; mantener la participación de deportistas con discapacidad en las pruebas RFEDI y seguir visibilizando el deporte de personas con discapacidad para dar cobertura a nuevas personas que quieran participar.
En la ponencia también se habló de la importancia de definir el ámbito de participación en pruebas RFEDI con licencias FEDDF-FEDPC-FEDC y viceversa, algo que ahora mismo no está definido en el marco jurídico.
Los deportistas
Irati Idiakez, deportista vasca de 24 años e integrante del equipo nacional, habló de su experiencia como rider de snowboard adaptado y cómo llegó a los deportes de invierno al sufrir un accidente en diciembre de 2017 tras el que la amputaron el brazo derecho.
Su objetivo para la próxima temporada, al no haber sido incluida su categoría en los Juegos Paralímpicos de invierno de Pekín 2022, son el Mundial de Noruega y las diferentes Copas del Mundo.
Pol Makuri, deportista de esquí de fondo, sufre desde nacimiento una hemiplejia en la parte derecha, algo que no le ha impedido luchar por sus sueños. En verano compite en carreras de montaña, participando en carreras junto a reconocidos atletas como Kilian Jornet o Nuria Picas, y en invierno hace esquí de fondo.
Al no estar bien valorada la discapacidad a nivel competitivo sus posibilidades de participar en unos Juegos Paralímpicos se han reducido pero, como reconoce, hasta el último segundo dará lo mejor de sí mismo por intentar llegar a participar en el futuro.
